Celebrating three years of collaboration with V&A

Seymourpowell is happy to be entering a third year of collaborative educational workshops with the V&A schools team throughout the 2012/13 academic year.

This year Seymourpowell will be running 10 extended DesignPro workshops, which will be held for students and teachers alike. The DesignPro workshops will introduce professional design practise in the area of product design and take inspiration from the V&A collections. They will explore design processes and aim to nurture innovative design solutions and encourage forward thinking for the future.

The V&A Schools programme manager Cara William’s said, “The V&A is hugely grateful to the team at Seymourpowell for the support they have given to the Learning programme over the last three years.

“During that time, the Seymourpowell workshops have built up such a reputation that schools book year on year. Teachers who bring students to the workshops say the impact they’ve had on changing and improving the way they teach is incredible.”

In addition, Seymourpowell will be taking part in the V&A annual creative quarter on 16 November, an event organised by the Exhibition Road Cultural Group, which enables young people to learn about their prospects in the creative industries. Seymourpowell’s head of sustainability, Chris Sherwin, will present at the event, enlightening students about the importance of sustainability and design moving forward.
